¼ cup brown sugar
1½ tsp ground cinnamon
For the Egg Wash
2 large eggs
¼ cup milk (whole, 2%, or non-dairy alternative)
For Frying
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Optional Toppings
Powdered sugar, maple syrup, cream cheese glaze, or fresh berries
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Bread
Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread. Trim the crusts to make rolling easier.
Step 2: Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Assemble the Roll-Ups
Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll each slice tightly.
Step 4: Mix the Egg Wash
Whisk together the eggs and milk in a shallow bowl.
Step 5: Dip and Cook
Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture and place it in the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
