Ingredients
For the Cajun Seasoning:
1 tablespoon mild paprika
1½ teaspoons salt
1½ teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder (add more if you like it spicier)
¾ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon brown sugar (or keto brown sugar substitute)
½–¾ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper
For the Steak Bites:
23 oz steak, cut into 2-inch cubes (Sirloin, Ribeye, New York Strip, or Rump)
1–2 tablespoons canola oil (or avocado oil)
¼ cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Instructions
Make the Cajun Seasoning
In a shallow bowl, mix together all the Cajun seasoning ingredients.Season the Steak
Toss the steak cubes in the seasoning mix, making sure they’re coated evenly.Sear the Steak Bites
Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add steak in batches. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and crispy on the edges. Don’t overcrowd the pan—work in 2–3 batches.Add Garlic Butter
Reduce heat to medium. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. Stir in the chopped garlic and cook for 30 seconds, scraping the browned bits off the pan.Coat Steak in Butter
Return the steak bites to the pan and toss well to coat in the garlic butter.Serve
Serve warm, topped with fresh herbs if desired. These go great with mashed potatoes, rice, or low-carb veggies.
Notes
You can substitute store-bought Cajun seasoning (use about 3 tablespoons), but check the sodium content.
For milder spice, reduce the cayenne and chili powder by half.
Sirloin is the best value cut, but ribeye offers extra richness if you want to splurge.
Want a saucier dish? Double the butter and garlic at the end.
